The Youth Empowerment Fund (YEF) is officially open for applications! This initiative is a powerful partnership between the European Union (EU) and the Global Youth Mobilization (GYM) that provides direct financial support to youth-led projects tackling the world’s most pressing challenges.
If you are a young changemaker working to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at a local level, this is your opportunity to secure funding, mentorship, and a platform to scale your impact.
Funding Tiers
We offer micro-grants tailored to the scale of your initiative:
- Individuals & Informal Groups: 500 – 1,500 EUR * Registered Youth-Led Organizations: Up to 5,000 EUR
Special Focus Areas
While all SDG-related projects are welcome, we prioritize:
- Under-Represented Communities: Projects supporting those facing socio-economic challenges, gender barriers, disabilities, or marginalization.
- Climate & Sustainability: Initiatives focused on environmental protection and climate resilience.
Application Criteria
- Age: 14 to 30 years old.
- Location: Applicants must be from eligible countries.
- Project Scope: Must address local challenges aligned with the SDGs.
- Review Process: All applications are reviewed by a global team of Youth Panellists, ensuring a “Youth-Led” selection model.

Successful awardees receive more than just a grant. You will gain access to:
- Workshops & Guidance: Technical support for project implementation.
- Accelerator Program: A chance for outstanding teams to scale their ideas through intensive training and a global network of youth leadership.
